Molecular biology tools

From sequence to taxonomic evidence

Practical molecular biology tools for analysing nucleotide sequences, interpreting taxonomic evidence and preserving the complete analysis.

SILVA UNITE NCBI

mo-bio brings together small, specialised bioinformatics tools into a simple environment designed for day-to-day molecular biology work.

The aim is not to replace established databases or bioinformatics software. mo-bio uses them as building blocks and provides a common interface for running analyses, examining their evidence and keeping the results in a structured, portable form.

01

Identify

Compare a nucleotide sequence against specialised reference datasets and inspect the evidence supporting the resulting taxonomic matches.

The analysis travels with the evidence

Molecular identification is more than a species name or a percentage of identity. The sequence, reference source, database release, search parameters, matches and alignments are all part of the scientific evidence.

mo-bio can preserve that information in an MTAX file: a structured molecular analysis that can be saved, reopened and examined later.

One sequence. Different sources. Preserved evidence.

Analyse today. Understand what you did tomorrow.

Reference databases evolve. Taxonomy changes. Search tools and their results change with them. Keeping the evidence behind an analysis makes those changes visible instead of losing them behind a final identification.
